How did we get the beauty of spring from the month of war? My prayer is we lay down our weapons and choose to go to war against evil this March. Tradition is that in March the soldiers go out to war after the winter calm. The month of March is named for the Roman god of war, Mars. Joy of a new relationship, joy of overcoming the challenge with friends, or the joy of offering love to those around me.

Life is challenging and we are always facing difficulties, but I have learned if you focus on helping your neighbor, challenges can bring joy. I still see starvation and deplorable living conditions around the world, but now I ask how I can help be an agent of change. I still see the pain and devastation of war, but I have hope. Knowing God changed my lens in which I look at this life through. I attribute all this change to finally meeting and accepting Jesus into my life. Thankfully, my life changed in my early twenties. My life outlook and attitude oozed out of me and my angst and anger for life bled into all my interactions. I could also share about the many loving coupes we served this past month as they enjoyed some much-needed quiet time and connection over the Valentine’s Day holiday.Īs a child I was reprimanded for my poor attitude. Or I could write about a touching story some guests shared with me this past month about their beloved dog, Noel. I could go on and on with the evil and devastating effects we humans cause upon each other with our self-centered actions. I could write about the starving homeless child in a third world country who has lost both parents to AIDS and has no one to raise him or provide food and shelter. I could write about the fear that the Ukrainian and Russian people are facing as the Russian invasion in Ukraine pushes on. The same is true of pan de muerto, a Mexican sweet bread is eaten during the weeks around Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead).I could write about the cold weather and how I am tired of winter (I have done this many times before). They're a perfect project recipe that are as delicious as they are impressive.
